Is the aqueous solution of 10% povidone-iodine. It is a fast acting, broad-spectrum antiseptic that kills gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including antibiotic resistant organisms) as well as fungi/yeasts, viruses and protozoa. It is used for de-germing skin, wounds and mucous membranes and for preoperative skin preparation of patients.
